After his triumph at the first tournament of the season in Adelaide, Gaël Monfils continued his winning streak in Melbourne and reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open without dropping a set. The Frenchman finally bowed out to Matteo Berrettini, who went on to lose his semi-final match against Rafael Nadal.
